An Ethnic Heritage Day celebration featuring Irish culture will be held Thursday, March 23, at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. The event will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Pearson Museum (second floor) of the school's main building at 801 N. Rutledge St.
The program includes a short talk about Killarney Ireland, Springfield's twin city, by Mayor Tim Davlin. There also will be cultural displays and artifacts as well as tasting of Irish foods.
