The numbers of pharmacies in the Springfield area that now have the H1N1 vaccine has increased dramatically as more supplies have become available. The H1N1 vaccine is also available at the Sangamon County Department of Health (SCDPH) as well at a person's doctor's office.
The vaccine is free through the county health department, but private providers such as pharmacies are allowed to charge an administrative fee for the H1N1 vaccine and the cost varies among them. This fee is covered under Illinois Medicaid and Medicare Part B. One would have to check with their health insurance to find out if their insurer covers this fee.
