CHICAGO -- Community leaders say mentally ill residents of a troubled Chicago nursing home are being forced to move too quickly.

Somerset Place housed more than 300 mentally ill residents until it lost government funding one month ago. The state is in the process of revoking the facility's license after citations for fights, verbal abuse and lack of supervision.

Illinois Department of Public Health Assistant Director Teresa (tehr-RAY'-suh) Garate (GAH'-rah-tay) says about 75 residents still live Somerset. The plan is to move everyone by Friday.

Some community advocates are planning a candlelight vigil Monday evening at Somerset Place.

They say what's happening at Somerset sets a disturbing precedent for the next time a nursing facility closes down.
